My name is Alex Ortiz. I am the new A&R Intern at The River of Calm. I am originally from the suburbs of Chicago but now reside in Brooklyn, NY. I studied Psychology and Spanish at San Diego State University. Even though I got the degree, I have always had an affinity for music. I have always found inspiration in the way music unites and connects communities. This affinity and inspiration have led me to be a radio show host, a published music journalist, and have led me to a concert one too many times. As I further my career in the music industry, I aspire to uplift artists, regardless of genre, to bring their art to the world. With a background in live events and talent management, I am excited to bring my professional and niche point of view to The River of Calm team.
